Byzantine Vestments and Orthodox Vestments

Vestments

My Orthodox and Byzantine style vestments are made of the finest fabrics available. When custom-making your Orthodox vestments, I try to tend to all details, no matter how small. All my vestments include a full zipper up the front, and a hook and clasp at the neck. I place a strip of grosgrain ribbon along the front edge of the lined phelons to help prevent fraying of satin and I also attach ties to the front of phelon to prevent it from shifting to either side. I will never put a seam down the middle of a phelon back. Of course, I can add or take away any detail you may request.

Satins can be preshrunk for an additional fee. This will minimize the buckling of the fabric on the phelon back the first time you have it dry cleaned. This can save on alteration costs to have the hem recut after this first dry cleaning.

Stichars are made from the same bridal satin that is used to line the vestment. However, if there is a match in color, I can make the stichar out of a lightweight, washable, bridal satin, charmeuse or any other similar fabric.
